ANNAPURNA CIRCUIT TREK

Overview

Various trail heads around the Annapurna’s have seen the fresh activities of road construction to link the various villages by the government. These unfortunately have spoiled the once beautiful trekking trails of these regions. The following itinerary is newly constructed by us so that we can continue our Annapurna circuit following new trails and bypassing the trail lines with construction. These new trails join some of the older trails bypassing the roads constructed and are a delight for all nature lovers. Similarly, at some villages we home stay as there are no lodges, which was an altogether a new experience. Additionally, we contribute to eco-sustainability by helping contribute economically, ethically and ecologically (creating awareness) to new areas that were previously off the map…

The Annapurna’s is listed as one of the most popular trek trails of the world or rather the ten best!!

Join us in what is truly a voyage of discovery of epic proportions! See the world’s deepest gorge (Kali Gandaki) and experience walking through it, surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks, Annapurna I, 8091m to the Dhaulagiri, 8167m. Climb the highest pass, the Thorong la, 5416m and catch the rays of sunlight over the Himalayas at Poon Hill – nature’s paradise! Discover and interact with the people of the Himalayas, ten different ethnic groups, their warmth, hospitality, and simple living. A trip that encompasses all the senses and what we all learn by. Tour Plan

Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m)

A breathtaking Himalayan flight to Kathmandu is a thrill indeed. Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, you will be warmly greeted by our representative and s/he will help escort you to your Hotel. After check in and refreshing, you will be briefed by your tour consultant and the rest of the day is at your leisure to rest or explore the sights of the valley. Overnight at Hotel

Kathmandu to Besisahar to Chame [3,300m/10824ft]: 10 Hrs. Drive

An early morning with the pack breakfast, drive starts on the Prithivi highway that follows the Trisuli river. It is a long drive that is compensated by the great scenic views along the way. The road winds and curves through Muglin, where we detour towards the Pokhara route to Dumre and head northwards to Besishar-Khudi- Dharapani. We get our first views of the Manaslu ranges here. After Besisahar off road starts so it takes 5-6 hours to reach Chame. Overnight at Lodge

Trek Chame to Pisang 5 - 6 Hrs. Trek

A hard ascent through a steep and narrow path through dense forest brings you to a dramatically curved rock face, rising a sheer 1500m from the river floor. You will notice the dramatic change in the vegetation and we criss cross the river at several points on suspension bridges before the trail finally opens up and you are surrounded by the majestic Himalayan Peaks. Manang is located in a U-shaped valley between two giant snow peaks. We walk through to reach the village of Pisang. Overnight at Lodge

Trek Pisang to Manang (3500 m): 6 - 7 hrs

A day of choices! Our trail ahead forks to two divergent paths and you are presented with a choice of taking the upper or lower trail? The upper trail takes us via Geru (recommended) and it's highlight though a little strenuous brings us on level with the Annapurna and Pisang peaks - a view unsurpassed... En-route you will also have time to visit the Barge monastery, Manangs largest monastery and spirituality at its highest! Overnight at Lodge

Acclimatization Day at Manang

Today is a day of rest. Short walks can be taken to explore Bhojo Gompa (monastery) or Gangapurna Lake or a short hike to Vraga village, and its monastery. The Himalayan Rescue Association is also located here and we can get some ideas about Mountain Sickness. Overnight at Lodge

Trek to Yak Kharka (4,040m) :4- 5 hours

After a hearty breakfast, we now continue our trek climbing through the village of Tenki and onwards to the Marshyangdi valley to the Jarsang khola. As we climb and gain elevation, we notice the slow changes to the dry juniper shrub. Heading northwards, the trail follows through a few pastures and scrubs of juniper trees and passes near the small village of Ghunsa, a cluster of flat mud roofs just below the trailhead. We also cross several pastures, a small river over a wooden bridge, and an ancient old Mani wall to reach the small village of Yak Kharka. Overnight at the Yak Karka. Overnight at Lodge

Trek Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi (4,600m): 3 - 4 hrs

Another climb awaits you today as we make ready after breakfast to reach Thorong Phedi, a small settlement at the base of the Thorong La (High Camp). Time to get a complete rest for a tough day tomorrow. Some visitors do attempt a hike to the High Camp today so that the next day can be easier for them, but we do not recommend this. Although we will have a tougher day tomorrow, it is better to sleep soundly and safely rather than a risk sleep at higher altitudes. Overnight at Thorong Phedi. Overnight at Lodge

Trek Thorong Phedi to Thorong La (5416m) to Muktinath (3,800): 7 - 8 hrs then drive to Jomsom.

This is the high of our Around Annapurna trek as you cross the famous ' high pass, Thorong La 5416 m. An early start is recommended as you hike through the icy high-altitude trail. A hard day and a dearer reward can't be awarded than that of the high Himalayan views we are surrounded by. We reach Muktinath by sunset and are all ready to settle in for the night. Muktinath is an important pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists. The area hosts a Vishnu temple and a Monastery nearby. Muktinath demonstrates the religious harmony of Nepal. After that, drive to Muktinath by local jeep or Bus. It takes 1 hour to reach Jomsom. Overnight at Lodge

Drive from Jomsom to Pokhara (850 m)-176 Km 6 Hours

After breakfast in the morning, jeep drive towards Pokhara. It will take approximately 6 hours to reach Pokhara. In the afternoon you can walk around the area or relax in the hotel. Overnight at the Hotel Note: Jomsom Pokhara has a flight option also but it has depended on the  Weather conditions.
